Advancing Connections in Austin Manufacturing at This Year’s ARMA Expo
Athena Manufacturing recently attended the Austin Regional Manufacturers Association (ARMA) Expo on October 1st and 2nd, an event dedicated to supporting Austin manufacturing through networking and workforce development. This year’s expo was particularly meaningful for Athena, as it aligned perfectly with our mission to expand contract machining services while fostering new connections within the Central Texas manufacturing ecosystem.
John Newman, our CFO and longtime ARMA board member, has a deep commitment to growing the local manufacturing workforce. That’s why, here at Athena, we’re eager to collaborate with ARMA to support both workforce development and the broader Austin manufacturing community.
Our Goals for Attending: Exposure and Engagement
Athena’s primary goal at the ARMA Expo was simple: exposure, exposure, exposure! With a larger booth than ever before, our team aimed to showcase our capabilities in multi-axis machining services, mechanical assembly services, precision metal fabrication services, and more. We wanted potential customers and partners to see firsthand how Athena can deliver high-quality, reliable solutions for complex applications, such as cleanroom assembly work for the semiconductor industry.
Beyond business development, the expo also offered us the opportunity to focus on veteran hiring. Athena was proud to connect with transitioning veterans and their families, highlighting exciting career opportunities. These conversations allow us to support workforce development while introducing highly skilled individuals to careers in precision machining and manufacturing.
Community involvement and volunteering
ARMA started in 2010 with the mission of uniting Central Texas manufacturers, and Athena has been an active participant for many years. This year, several members of our team volunteered at the event, helping to ensure it ran smoothly. It was a rewarding experience for our people, and really helped us feel like part of this bustling manufacturing community!
Showcasing Athena’s Capabilities
At the expo, we showcased Athena’s comprehensive capabilities, offered hands-on demonstrations, and addressed questions from prospective customers.
For attendees, seeing our team in action reinforced that Athena is more than a provider of quality manufacturing services. We are a partner capable of supporting long-term agreements and scaling operations to meet customer demand.
Why Our Connection with the Austin Manufacturing Network Matters
Manufacturing in Austin, Texas, is booming. Local companies are increasingly seeking partners who can deliver precision and reliability. Athena’s presence at ARMA’s expo highlighted our dedication to not only expanding our customer base but also to growing our talent pool of skilled tradespeople. By engaging with students, veterans, and local professionals, we’re optimistic about the steady pipeline of talent emerging in the Austin manufacturing sector.
Athena plans to continue its active involvement with ARMA and the wider Central Texas manufacturing community. The relationships formed at the expo with potential customers, partners, or future employees reinforce the importance of face-to-face engagement in an increasingly digital world.
